Set sail for a poetic journey at the encounter of our links with the Ocean. Help us build an educative tool that will serve societal and ecological stakes.

Oc&aïa is born from the dream of re-enchanting the link between the world of Humanity, the Ocean, and the Earth.

Experts, citizens, artists, craftsmen and other doers, all animated by the same will to share their knowledge and to imagine tomorrow, rally to carry this dream.

Today, Oc&aïa introduces you to its first project: « Des Bouteilles à La Mer » (Bottles in She Sea), an invitation to a poetic journey at the encounter of our links with the Ocean. The idea is simple, tell stories to re-enchant ours.

After centuries of carrying the strong reputation of being a fierce and unfindable sea monster, the Kraken speaks out to share his memories, acquired over time, under the seas of the globe.

He tells us our history, one of stakes and challenges of our time such as climate change, energy, fishing, pollution, transport, migrations, but also one of solidarities and initiatives
... he has so much to say.

He witnesses of beauties he as seen live and die, of his greatest fears and hopes, navigating from sciences to imaginaries.

The Kraken would like to better understand. He takes the time to interrogate, to listen, he tries to awaken awareness, and seeks the emergence of solutions.

Then he welcomes us into discovering his treasures, evidence of the passing time and of the ancient link between Humans and the Ocean. But although he enjoys talking about the past, he is mostly concerned by the present and worried about the future. Merging beauty tragic and hope, he brings a message to be seen, projecting on his sails his vision of history and possibilities

His spectators then become actors. They entrust the Kraken with their message for the Ocean, and slide it in a bottle. At last, he invites them to immortalise their encounter and enter the Kraken's community.

Through this encounter, our Kraken gifts the passenger with an echo, maybe a different voice: Leaving the world of silences for some, going to its meeting for the others. In a poetic and personal universe, this venue awakens curiosity, suggesting the discovery of an imaginary at time's crossing, the meeting of knowledges, in an educative and popular approach.

What's the money for?

The funds raised through this campaign will be used for financing the content of the exhibition. Out of a total budget of 15000€ for the whole project, 8000€ have already been collected from public and private sponsors, concerned by their responsibility in the ecological transition.

This campaign will allow us to close the budget of the exhibition. The funds raised will be affected to the following needs!

4000€ for the construction of the Kraken's ship (wood, sails, ropes, ...)

2000€ because writing and filming a good story has a price (video writing, video projectors, sound system,...)

And 1000€ to craft you unforgettable memories (but shutttt, this is a surprise...!)
