After a year sailing on Diatomée, we realized that many talented photographers had already been on board. We wanted to keep and physically archive these works to exist somewhere else than on social networks, and thus keep a visual history of Diatomée. To do so, we called upon our freediver friend Remy Tricot, illustrator and artistic director, for a neat layout of a series of books that we decided to self-publish in this perspective. We remind you that the goal of Diatomée is to raise awareness of the beauty of the oceans by inviting as regularly as possible actors who seem to have a view that can bring this message, whether they are artists, athletes or even scientists. The first two artists to come on board are Meaghan Ogilvie and Enric Gener (better known as 27MM), to the Grenadine Islands last summer. They re-invented the world of underwater photography of the last years, here poetry, simplicity, nature, its inhabitants as well as its visitors are magnified with each photo. We have voluntarily chosen to make a refined selection so that each photo comes out of this adventure that we all lived together on board. We are extremely concerned about the print quality of the books, we have chosen on the advice of Remi a paper and a printing of very high quality, so that this book is an object to the height of the exposed clichés and of which we are all proud . In order to try to get in our expenses, we appeal to you, to carry out the edition of this book. This is the first in a long series, the full benefits, if any (which is far from certain) will be donated to an association to protect the oceans of the choice of photographers. To celebrate this first draw, we will give you an appointment in early June in Paris, to have a drink with you and hand deliver the book to all buyers. And we will try to invite the photographers on this occasion!
The fundraiser will help us fund this 500 books made for photography, ocean, and sailing enthusiasts.
This project collects in € (EUR) but you can still invest in the currency of your country (your bank may apply exchange fees).
