We let you discover our project in video:
"Porzh ar Vran - Pont-Scorff" is an association which aims to build historic boats using period construction techniques.
On the banks of the Scorff (Brittany), a 700m2 shipyard will host the construction of a first ship: a Viking ship (langskip).
Alongside the construction, conferences, exhibitions and activities will present construction techniques as well as the little-known history of the Vikings and of Brittany in the 9th and 10th centuries.
To build the boat, now the objective is to finance the wood and the tools: these are typical tools from the time of the Vikings, which we are going to buy from specialized blacksmiths. the purchase of the first tools represents an invoice of 2000 €.
Axes, doloire, adze, ... specific tools from the time of the Vikings.
As for the wood, we need oak for the keel and the frames and pine for the sidings of the hull. To start construction, we need tree trunks, which represents € 6,000 for the moment.
The more wood we have, the more the project can move forward. Thank you for your help !
This project collects in € (EUR) but you can still invest in the currency of your country (your bank may apply exchange fees).
