The goal of this crowdfunding is to finance the project of a new association composed by young people really motivated. The goals of this association are : Sensitize most people about coral reefs. What are they ? Why are they important ? Which threats are linked to these fragile ecosystems ? Create a new coral reef through coral cutting in French Polynesia (TAHITI) because these species are endangered. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀HELP US BY ADOPTING YOUR OWN CORAL

Titouan, 18 years old, living in Moorea, president of the association :

"The ocean is a lively place that fascinates me by its unequal beauty, its colorful corals, and its strange
and mysterious creatures living in it.

This vast ocean shelters an invaluable treasure: the coral reefs.

As a matter of fact the coral reefs are the lungs of the ocean. They produce two thirds of the oxygen
we breathe, they are the forests of the ocean and constitute the foundation and the balance of aquatic life.

And yet, there is a HUGE problem :

20% of the world coral reefs are dead.

30% are already condemned.

All the remaining ones are called to disappear in the years to come.

If nothing is done, the scientists predict that by 2050 there will be no more corals on earth, thus no
more fish, no more sea life.

THERE IS STILL A SOLUTION !!

For a few years now, it has been possible to cope with this problem and to SAVE the coral reefs.
The solution is simple and it is called: Coral Reef Restoration !

The idea is to create new reefs by transplanting these coral cuttings into threatened areas.

Once those little coral sprouts grow, a new environment will emerge and an aquatic life will settle
down at its pace and will live suitably in this new surrounding.

If you are willing to help me SAVE the coral reefs, here is what you can do:

If enough corals are adopted, it will then be possible for me to create a new coral reef on the beautiful
island of Moorea in French Polynesia.

My friends from TAHITI and I want to prove that it is possible to do something for our Ocean but we need your HELP !

Who are we?

My name is Titouan Bernicot and I’m 18 years old. I am from French Polynesia, and more precisely from Moorea

I was born in the atoll of Ahe, an island in the archipelagoes of the Tuamotus, in which my parents ran a pearl farm business. Since I was little, I’ve always been in contact with the ocean and spent my spare time surfing, diving or free diving.

"Nowadays, my family and I have created a Jewelry brand company named PEARL ROMANCE specialized in the Tahitian Black Pearl. It is true that one of the most beautiful treasure that the ocean gave us is this Tahitian Pearl with the colors of the rainbow ! Now it the turn to PEARL ROMANCE to give back to the Ocean ! In every jewel we sale, a pourcentage is used for this Pearl Romance Coral Reef Restoration Project !"

I am now studying in Bordeaux, western of France.

At the beginning, the members of this project are young people from Moorea, surfers, fishers and divers that realized the degradation of coral reefs and decided to fight against this phenomenon. The organization MOOREA CORAL GARDENERS is also composed by 3 students living in France.

We are all very motivated and involved to reach our objectives, but first, we need YOUR support and we're counting on you !

What's the money for?

Our first objective is to raise 2500€ to launch the association :

It will permits us to :

- Plant 100 corals and save 10m2 of damaged reefs

- Realize 1 event to sensitize people to our cause

- Take photos of our adventure to share with you on our social networks

- Realize a short video resuming our project

- Buy some tools for coral cutting

- Invest in diving tools that we’ll need for coral cutting

- Pay our biologists that will follow our project and take care of our coral cuttings

- Create our first communication tools : flyers, tshirts, stickers, posters, goodies…
